Did Garcia hit Khan harder than Maidana?

It's hard to judge. Maidana is heavier handed. Garcia is more explosive and has better timing and technique.

I'd say the left hook that Garcia dropped Khan with was harder than anything Maidana hit him with, factoring in all of the above.

 

Difficult to say by just looking on film, otherwise Prescott would be regarded a bigger hitter than both. Some lesser punches can trigger a knockdown that harder ones can’t. And it’s important to note that Khan has been susceptible to left hooks his entire career. He can’t see them. Maidana isn’t renowned for his left hook and, from what I remember, didn’t land many in the fight. He was mostly shooting right hands that Khan would often see coming.

What most people ignore is where the punch landed, people go on like any left hook garcia lands on Khan will drop him, he landed plenty - it was one which did the damage.

It was the placement of the punch, a punch to the neck can have a paralyzing effect because of the neck's connection to the spine and central nervous system, In other words it can switch of your brain and your body, many great chinned fighters are vulnerable around that area. Am pretty sure Hopkins has been down and hurt with a simple punch around the neck below the ear.

People who understand the pressure points of the body will understand what am talking about.

People make alot out of Khan's chin, maybe it's poor maybe not, but that left hook didn't prove anything, World Class trainers like Robert Garcia have even stated that Khans chin isn't that big of a problem.

Can you point out what round and the time in the round where Danny landed plenty of clean hooks on Khan before the knock down? From what i recall , the first clean hook connected floored Khan. First round Danny was measuring him up. Second he went to the body Third was the knockdown.

I think Maidana is heavier puncher for sure. If you look at this below, you will see that Garcia threw some hard shots at Khan during this few seconds, but Khan took them and fired straight back again.

In fact, Garcia throws a right hook straight at Khan's chin while Khan is on the ropes at the 2:55 mark. You can see Khan's face distort for a second, but he looks fine.

 

Shot Morales sure took everything Maidana had and more, contrary to the Garcia matches...............

Maidana hits harder, Garcia however hits cleaner. Matthysse combines the two.

 

Not hating on Garcia at all. Just stating my opinion on who hits harder. I still think Garcia beats Matthysse though.
