Well, I would say this. Khan was recovered from the shot Maidana landed in the 10th that buckled and almost finished Khan, in the very next round. Khan was never the same after that left hook in the 4th, even after surviving the round.
Garcia wins on all accounts here. Maidana had Khan on kangaroo street and couldn't finish, he ran out of gas. Not to forget that Maidana is a predictable wild swinger.
Which is why my opening post says even when comparing the shots, a number of factors still come in to play. Timing, accuracy, technique, etc. :good
Exactly. Khan didn't see that hook coming until they showed him the replay. Between that and the fact Khan took the punch in the neck, I don't think Garcia can be confidently called heavier handed than Maidana based on the Khan bout. The Morales bout probably is good evidence, though.
Agreed. Maidana is heavier handed IMO, but Garcia's landed cleaner, more explosive, better timing, and Khan was coming on to the shot. Which is why it probably put Khan in more trouble.
I was going to say the same thing. He didn't see it coming. Heck, Danny probably didn't either. lol JK
The difference in the two fights was that Khan was running from Maidana but decided to trade with Garcia. Maidana had put a lot of punishment on Khan throughout the fight and after the second half, Maidana had to chase Khan. I forget which round it was, I think the tenth, that Khan was just trying to survive. Cortez also kept jumping in and breaking the fighters when Maidana got close. Against Garcia, Khan surprisingly wasn't running. I think he got a lot of **** for running against Maidana that he decided to try to prove those people wrong. Even after the first KO he wasn't backing up and was still trying to trade.
Garica knocked him down 2 more times after that, the last on a grazing shot after Khan recovered:roll: atsch
Garcia, with the first knockdown, took his legs. He no longer had the option of running, hence why he chose to stand and trade. His defence has always been his legs and, with them not functioning properly, he didn't know what else to do and so he thought: **** it, if I'm gonna' go out, I'm gonna' go out on my shield.
Khan never recovered from the first knockdown. Anyone with half a brain could see that in the way he was fighting in the 4th. When trying to run and return shots, his legs were weak and his balance was poor.
