lmfao, this is some bitter hate still going on for Danny around here...senseless bitter hate, he fights who they say he will definitely never fight because he knows better because he's terrified and will lose. They out turn out to be blatantly wrong on all three fronts (fight, fear, fail) and they still refuse to deal with the situation like adults. Not only do they lack self respect with the public absurdities they spew, they deny themselves to learn anything new about the sport with their continued ignorance. the big picture; danny won clearly. Looking more in depth, lucas pressed the fight and was probably getting the better of the action up to the swelling. Its kinda unfair to say Matthysse was exposed when he fought half of the fight with one eye. Of course taking nothing away from swift, but a rematch should clear the "controversy". Rematch, i sill think close fight, but danny's chin will stand the test
It was highly competitive, and Garcia only started pulling away once Matthysses eye was fked. When I hear outboxed, I am thinking of Rigondeaux-Donaire or Mayweather-Canelo. :deal
"one eye" these are the kind of comments that keep hater comments alive. Ask Margarito, Gatti, Cotto, if a fights over just because you only got one good eye. And why is continually ignored Lucas landed his best punch after the injury? There are no excuses in this fight anywhere you look, nothing many boxers before Lucas hasn't dealt with and been victorious with before, and will be after.
Too many unanswered questions in this fight. I still view these guys as equals. If it were not for the eye swelling, KD, and low blows this COULD have been a very different fight. Lucas landed some bombs, and hurt Danny at one point. In a rematch I would favor Mathysse.
It wasn't a "masterclass" in the way those fights were, but Garcia was able to use a bit of movement to limit damage to a minimum, time his foe's punches and counter with decent shots of his own- and in at least a few of the rounds that he won he managed to dictate the tempo and distance of the fight. He slugged a bit, but by and large the fight was determined by Garcia's ability to implement his plan of attack..and that plan involved a fair amount of boxing.
Keeping it factual: Lucas eye was completely shut against Vivian Harris and he TKO'd Harris... Garcia is not Harris. Garcia took Lucas hardest shots like they were lazy jabs.
Let it go Melissa... Did you even watch the fight without Argentinean music playing in the background yet? Why are you kidding yourself that Lucas won every round before the eye got blasted shut? Has your dad ever sat you down and taught you how to properly score a boxing match?
