yes ofcourse everytime lucas hit garcia he held him and it moved him the only time i seen garcia trade with lucas was in last few seconds of round 12
Yes he outboxed him. That was to be expected. Most people thought that would happen or Lucas would knock him out. I personally expected Lucas to KO him late while behind on the scorecards. That didn't happen. It might have if Lucas' eye didn't swell so bad or it might not have happened. Wouldn't mind seeing a rematch.
Matthyse was actually outboxing Garcia in the first rounds. Not taking anything away from Danny but he really got a little lucky there.
Judging from past fights I've seen danny takes a round or two to get his opponents timing down while keeping his activity level at an acceptable pace. What Danny did was out-smart Lucas something that shouldn't come as a shock to anyone keen on the fight game. It was a competitive fight because both men are good at what they do. Danny edged Lucas but the edge was clear and decisive. Not sure what all the drama and gripe is about I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch though I think Danny has earned himself another big fight against another 140lb or 147lb kingpin. Lucas had his shot and could not impose his will so he must yet again wait in line. Lucas will undoubtably bounce back but for those still sour about the loss ya need to move on.
he outboxed him in the sense that he won a close and competitive fight. He did not however, 'whup' Lucas or give a boxing lesson or any other stupid garbage like that. The eye swelling, whether Danny fanboys (I'm neither a fanboy of Lucas or Danny) would like to admit it or not, definitely swayed the the dynamic of the fight. The swelling was of course caused by Danny's punches, but however is not a common injury to receive and so Lucas was unlucky in that respect. Even still with limited vision, Lucas still made the fight close and without the KD the fight would have been scored a draw. IMO this is as close as a fight can be, definitely not a one sided beating and one that deserves a follow on as their styles make for a great fight.
I reject this notion of Lucas having to wait in line as if he has one shot and one shot only. Lucas is in the top tier of the 140 lb-ers and imo Danny was the only guy who legit beat him. Sure Danny is the champ and he gets to make the call however Lucas is a solid number 2 and Danny's equal imo.
Most people are saying it was close competitive fight like I said not a boxing lesson like your trying to make it atsch Remember it would have been a draw if that bogus KD in the 11th didn't occur not what I call a ass whooping :deal
Fair enough....still Lucas shouldn't have pecking order rights above say Provo for instance, at the of the day he lost and even if he remains Danny's so called boogey man he still took an L. Again I must reiterate the fact that u wouldn't mind seeing a rematch, the fight was entertaining enough to warrant such.
Danny and angel are on record saying that they would never give Matthysse a rematch no matter the money that alone makes me think there not to confident in a rematch.
