according to some Brook was "winning". I could see him have some succes, and he won the 2nd, but I don't call that winning. He was taking a horrid beating in the 5th and I actually was impressed that he stayed on his feet. Wouldn't have taken much longer though, although the corner stoppage was kinda British.
I had them pretty even before the 5th, but Golovkin did his normal slowish start - he was clearly getting his timing and range a bit better and the accumulation of damage Brook had weathered was starting to affect him in general, GGG always seems to really start coming in hard from around the 5th/6th so against a "good match" it would never surprise me if he were close on the cards by the 5th. I dont think that's a great way of doing it, but it seems to be more or less what he does and its clearly working for him
Confirmed: Golovkin broke Brook's eye socket...............with a left hook............hope it does not endanger his career...............he will be out for a while, but will he very be the same? Brook's corner did the right thing................ I had Golovkin winning every round except the second. He knocked Brook down in the 3rd, but the ref did not call it.............
Eh Day had the judges looking through the Matchroom Tinted Spectacles again similiar to Burns v Beltrano.
I had Golovkin winning every round except the second and even in that round Golovkin did the most damage. Golovkin knocked Brook down in the 3rd round. It takes power to break an eye socked, if the fight had not been stopped, Brook would have been very seriously hurt.................Brook's corner was looking out for him..................
Wonder if Brook will now apologise to Dominic for chucking him under a bus when asked to explain the stoppage. His corner probably saved him from losing his eyesight in his right eye.
