Mollo was just outside the top 10 and seen by some as a possible contender, what happened to the guy? He gets fed Golota as a bit of a showcase, loses, then loses to Mccline and hasen't fought since. He was only 28 when he fought Mccline.

    What happened to him?

I do not think Golota ended his career, maybe he just helped to realize to some people that Mollo was overhyped.

The only top20 opponents he fought were McCline, Golota and TOS - and he lost all of those fights. He was quite short, not really skilled and his defence wasn't good either. And, as you mentioned, he was like 28 already, so there wasn't much hope it can change. IMHO he was going to lose anyway ever time he stepped up, so calling it a day was good move.

I don't think Mollo was "fed" Golota - was he even the favourite to win that fight? He was never going to be a contender for any title, let alone win one. He was a decent brawler who was always going to come unstuck against B-level opposition.

From what I remember, the fight against Golota was pretty good though and he took a real beating down the stretch but managed to finish on his feet.

I really enjoy that fight, seeing Golota get his eye swollen shut from about round 5 on and maintain composure, not snap, and continue boxing. Probably his last good performance.

Golota mentally from the Ruiz, Byrd, Mollo fights with his late mid-late 90's skills would have been something else.

The Golota-Mollo fight was a very good HW scrap.

Golota showed his often missing mental strength here.Mollo tried to rush him like Lewis nad Brewster but Golota was very relaxed in there and took advantage of Mollo's stamian running out on him from the half of the fight.

Talked to Mollo last Summer, he was in a good mood because of some management changes he made and seemed anxious to get back into the ring.
    Never heard anything again. Weird.
