Did Guerrero Strictly Prepare for a Toe 2 Toe Mayweather?

There is no blueprint is more than just a saying

 

He prepared to pressure Mayweather and attempt to take advantage of his ring rust. Didn't work. There was no plan that was going to allow him to beat Floyd.

 

If Mayweather stood toe to toe with him, it would not have gone well for Robert. Not at all.

 

Lol ya too bad he'll probably spend most of that money on lawyers and legal fines. Expect Ortiz in the fall....then this mother ****er goes away for a while......seriously dude showing up with a gun to an airport, in 2013? How ****ing stupid are you?????

 

On a completely different note Robert G's career path makes me feel a little disgusted by the boxing game. I mean Guerrero essentially only started getting a push from the industry when his wife got cancer. He was never a start or even thought of as anyone that was going to be anything until she nearly died and then next thing you know there's money behind the guy. He's getting gift fights against old shot Casamayor and Katsidis. He's showing up to press conferences (probably invited) and calling guys out. He's getting title shots at weights he's never even fought at. I mean seriously this guy got everything handed to him cause his wife nearly died and that is a story that can sell.

 

Guerrero just couldn't figure out Mayweather. Put it this way, if Marquez can't make the adjusts to figure out Mayweather's style (when you think of the fights he's been behind and come roaring back over the last few years such as Diaz, Katsidis and Pacquiao) then very few, if any, can.

 

Like the man said, he wasn't prepared for Mayweather. He was prepared for a situation and what he got was about five or six situations, all rotating and changing. His ass was lost.

 

Yeah. Nothing to do with the fact that he is an entertaining and pretty decent fighter, combined with the fact that he has continued to prove himself and shift weight classes and still succeed.

IMO although he was clearly outclassed, no one deserved that shot more than him.

 

Honestly you don't prepare for mayweather you either have some phyical advantage over him you can make work to your advantage or your ****ed. Guys that have similarity fast hands and feet are going to make for good fights. Guys who don't have those talents aren't going to be able to out think him or out slug him.

 

I didn't mean to say that he didn't deserve the shot. Hell after 12 years as pro and having fought his ass off in at many different weights against lots of different fighters I'm not hating on him for the shot he got or saying that he didn't deserve it. What I'm saying is that none of the sports power brokers would have given this guy (an excellent fighter) the time of day if his wife had not almost been killed by cancer.
