Is his jab better than Hearns, Monzon or Winky? If the answer is yes you don't know boxing if the answer is no then he it isn't ATG
Yes and if you answered no then you know as much about boxing as the tea party knows about economics It's probably the same person who confuses Hagler with Bennie Briscoe (bald black man equals Bennie Briscoe, how intelligent!)
Yes, to the OP's question...undoubtedly. Whether or not he had a greater jab than Hearns or Winky does not disqualify any of them...they all had great jabs. Personally, I would least like to take Tommy and Marv's...I would say they had the edge power-wise on the jab over Winky. PS - I wouldn't actually want to take any of them.
Yes, I think Hagler had an atg jab. He had a whole ****nal of punches that he used very effectively vs his opposition. Can't discredit Marvin on his artillery at all.
you "It would look exactly like the 2nd Bennie Briscoe fight" "they have very similar style(small middle weights, great stamina, power left hands, elite chins). Styles make fights" "Well he's not going to counter punch Monzon and he's not going to box him from the outside, so yeah against Monzon, Hagler would be a 1 dimensional slugger like Briscoe."
welp, there you go, everyone other than Bundini thinks Hagler had an ATG jab. case closed. Bundini is an idiot that DKSAB.
Holmes, Ali, Liston, Hagler, Quartey, Whitaker, DLH, Hearns, Winky, Wlad, Mayweather... These are all ATG jabs at work.
and he was so sure of himself! "Well he's not going to counter punch Monzon and he's not going to box him from the outside" why the hell NOT? Hagler's reach was 75 inches. Maybe he thought Hags reach was 67 in. becuz he and Rocky were both from Brockton
IMO Hagler had a superior jab to Monzon and was a better boxer on the outside. I was never terribly impressed with Monzon's jab like I was with Hagler's. This is just me though
