Did Hatton duck Witter during his career ?

Anyway, yea, all in all, of course he dodged Witter, he'd have been a tricky customer, though the fact that Hatton fought several far superior fighters than Witter, kind of more than excuses for it, for me.

witter didn't have nothing on Hatton in his prime.... He was a worthless fight really, Hatton obviously had his plans to go to America as an undefeated star, and get the mega money..... And look how much money the little sniff head gained in doing so..

 

If I really disliked someone and was confident of beating the **** out of them/humiliating them in a legel environment, i'd fight them. Biscuit-ersed Hatton was obviously not as confident as he made out, and so rolled out a load of pathetic and downright laughable excuses.

Witter offered to fight for nothing. He offered to fight as a late replacement. He won the WBC belt. Hatton fought the likes Vilches, Pdersen, Smith, Maussa instead.

So really, all of that taken into consideration, none of the excuses Hatton, yourself or any of the other Wicky nuthuggers put forward stand up to scrutiny.
Hatton had it all to lose by fighting Witter, that was not the case against Pac or PBF.

Ye he probably did duck him but understandably really would have been interested to see the fight but won't begrudge for it because of the level of opposition he did eventually face. I would feel the same way for Khan about Murray in the future

 

Witter, in his prime, was a dangerous fighter. He had a great chin and was powerful at the weight. He only lost to a peak Zab Judah and was a World Champion when he was calling Hatton out. Even if Hatton hated him and thought it would be an easy nights work, there was a world title belt up for grabs and a huge British showdown.

Hatton didn't fancy it. That's the way I saw it anyway.

 

I'll tell you what though, as much as Witter generally sucks, I'm willing to give him credit for the Kotelnik victory. Even if it should blatantly have been scored a draw.

 

You think otherwise huh? I'm sorry, but Maussa is better, he really is. Sure, he looks awful, but he's more effective with his slow looping than Witter is. Sure, Witter would beat him on points - but prime Maussa would beat a wider variety of opponents than Witter.

Yes, Witter would beat him. Probably not even on points either, because he's a bag of shite and you know it and its nothing to do with a 'wider variety of opponents'. Maussa lost to every worthwhile opponent except for Vivian Harris, even Witter has better wins.
