Michael Spinks went up from LHW and immediately fought Larry Holmes.

Roy Jones Jr. stepped up from LHW and fought John Ruiz.

It is not absurd for Haye to step up as CW champion and fight the HW champion in his second fight.

So I suppose its safe to say pacquiao didnt deserve a shot at Hatton then, Mayweather didnt deserve a shot at DLH either by your logic

Plenty of dumb things happen, just because a precedent of ******ation is set it doesn't mean we should leap to justify it.

Beating a couple of C/D class fighters and shouting your mouth off is not supposed to be how you get a title shot, period. I can hear the justifications that he was cruiser champ and so on if he beat a respectable contender but he has failed to even do that.

Cruiserweight to heavyweight is a huge jump, hence why so few have done it effectively.

The likes of Foster, Spinks and Jones stepped up from LHW to HW, which is an even bigger gap, and fought the HW champion. Fitz stepped up from MW and won the HW title!!

Also may I add that Team Klitschko offered Adamek the fight for June 20th after they were told Haye was injured.

And Haye has done what? Haye has 2 good wins on his resume at cruiserweight. I'm not even sure if Fragomeni or Enzo is that second win...
He was hardly Holyfield at cruiserweight, he's contending with Gomez's reign and nobody was pounding on the door for his shot.

The question is 'did he deserve it' and I ask myself has he done more than Chagaev or Povetkin and the answer is a resounding no.

Lets be honest, the HWs are such a boring, uninspiring bunch that anyone with an ounce of charisma and a bit of chat is going to find it easy to jump that queue.

He didn't deserve it as much as those two but with Chagaev injured/caught up in the WBA mess and Povetkin also injured Wlad really had no one else to face.

Haye comes along insults him, created HUGE media interest in the fight and a Haye-Wlad fight made perfect sense.

Now Haye is injured I don't mind Wlad facing Chagaev on the 20th.

You could make a case either way.

Whats for sure is that there is no need for him to drop to brit or euro level at HW. He is an undisputed world champ for christs sake!

Based on Haye's previous wins at HW, he did not deserve the fight No.

He got the fight based on the money it would have made Wlad.

Unfortunately, his "injury" has meant he has had to pull out, and Wlad has already had to wait 3 months for him as it is, for him to "prepare".

Lets just hope that if he gets another title fight at HW, that he does not get another "injury".

This was a voluntary fight for Vlad. Haye needed more time to prepare,so this crap? Vlad should go ahead and fight Chagaev, who is undefeated and is the only one to defeat Valoeuv, thus putting extra pressure on Valouev and Don King for a unfication fight. Haye really offered nothing.

The only thing Haye offered was the realistic chance of a competitive fight, which in the current heavyweight division is enough to get you to jump the queue. Who else out there has a better chance of beating Klitschko other than haye?? That's what made the fight so good.

I hope this is thue and that they can salvage the date. I wonder just how effective a non existant Chagaev will be againt Klitschko. I think it's a mismatch.
