No he didn't, but he embarked on a campaign of belligerence and got what he set out for. As Don King said, you don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate. I think Klitschko is right to go ahead with the Chagaev fight though. I'm not a fan of Wlad but, if nothing else, he's an active fighter and he's waited around long enough. I think Haye should have just got on with it, unless of course it's something very serious.

am i right in thinking that after wlad fights chagaev he will have to fight povetkin for the ibf, then dimitrenko for the wbo?

so haye wont get a fight until this time next year? that puts him in a catch 22 situation where he will have to fight once or twice to keep active but risks losing his shot in the process.

As it stands, he doesn't have a shot anymore. He needs to earn his way back into a title fight like everyone else. I really think he should have just got on with it.

Everything happens for a reason - .................. or so they say.

haye v wlad on june 20th werent meant to be

it could be a blessing in disguise

pherhaps now Haye will be forced to take a few more heavy fights and gain more experience and be better ready when his time comes

rather than getting thrown in too soon and dismantled.

Perhaps (by virtue of beating a top 10 welterweight).

Definitely (he beat DLH beforehand at a higher weight, thus almost certainly proving himself a top fighter at 140)

    No.

    Yes.

Having said that, there's no-one really for Wlad to fight, so I won't object to Haye getting the chance to get his face smashed in.

With no serious title contenders I don't see why the linear cruiserweight champ wouldn't deserve a fight. He also had two good heavyweight wins which were devastating.

Every other division entertains fights between champs from different weight classes except the heavies. Now that cruisers are heavies boiling down to 200, we should begin to entertain the idea.

Haye is a 6'3 man. Jones is 6'5. Mormeck is 5'11 but built. These guys should be given shots at heavy. It would make the division more interesting.
