    Yeah it hindered him.

Wlad would have still won though regardless

In the words of Emmanuel Steward, the fight went exactly as I expected

Once he realised his toe was broken (which was supposedly about 3-4 weeks before the fight) he should have at the very least STFU with all that trash talk or come up with a game plan that didn't invovle 'bouncing off that foot to unleash my power' instead he continued his trash talk and kept the same game plan which he was unable to implement and as a result was completely shutdown.

    It's "affect".

As to whether it affected him: perhaps, I don't know. I'm pretty sure he would've lost with an intact toe as well sadly.

Perhaps hindered him a little bit. The result still would have been the same though. Klitschko>Every other heavyweight today.

If he had pulled out again, it would have been the 3rd time he pulled out. couldnt afford to do it.

of course having a broken toe on you trailing foot is going to be a hindrance. even with pain killers your brain will be telling your body not to abuse it so your movement will be somewhat restricted.

Don't think it matters a jot in terms of how the fight went. Also think the way he went about showing it could have been dealt with better.

    This..................

:patsch at anybody thinking a broken toe is a minor injury, just think of the pain a person feels when they lightly bang their toe. Just think on a bad foot he pretty much rendered Wlad ineffective, slipping and and sliding everything, and also clearly landed the best punches of the fight and nearly putting wlad on his ass before Wlad shamelessly decided to hold 12+ seconds and then pile driver Haye to the mat in the 12th

Who knows what a healthy Haye does

people give him alot of **** for that excuse, and they should because that is a ***** ass excuse to use after a fight.

but ive messed up one of my toes before and i couldnt walk right for a while. so i kind of know the feeling.

it was my big toe tho, not sure how much a pinky toe would effect your performance.

I broke my little toe just from stepping backwards at a wierd angle...

It felt like it had snapped in half and I had to drag my foot home pretty much.

More painfull than when I fractured the top of my arm and my toe looked knowwhere near as bad as haye's just slighly swollen

I can understand how people who havn't expieranced this can mock haye.

Think it was an unlucky situation. He himself must think he looks like a prat... but what can he do eyyyy.

To be honest, I remember watching him get his foot out in the ring and in the press conference and thinking 'what are you doing Haye?!' It was such a weird thing to see. I was at a party the next afternoon and speaking to one of my friends' fathers about it, himself a former professional athlete, and said how ridiculous it was. He didn't, he sympathized with it and said any injury big or small can have an effect on an athlete physically, mentally, or both. Sounds simple, but it did *slightly* alter my mind on it so while it could have effected his performance, I don't think the result - a Wlad victory on points - would have been any different.
