Where he said: "At our meeting with HBO they asked us whether we are ready to box. You know our answers - I said yes, you said no. You said something about your shoulder or promoter - I'm not interested in the reason, I only heard your "no." Or was the translation misleading? Anybody know?
They are not in the business of taking sides at least in case when they still want to broadcast both sides.
The statement was actually said, but why would HBO get involved in this back and forth, lol. They didn't need to comment on the matter. It's trivial.
Check out this from Dougie Fischer last year: Regarding Golovkins accountability, yes, he did say he was willing to face anyone from junior middleweight to super middleweight. And if you talk to HBO executives (as I have), they will tell you, on the record, that Golovkin has not turned down a single fighter approved by the network to face him. They will also tell you, off the record, that GGG is the ONLY HBO fighter who is willing to face whoever they propose to him. I'm cool with that if it's true. Will they give Floyd whatever he wants if he wanted to fight Golovkin though? HBO would have to cave to Haymon too.
Ward really looked stupid in the meeting and blamed his promoter and said he had injury...GGG showed ward who the boss is...
