did hearns v mccallum ever come close to happening?

    McCallum should have fought Duran. The WBA ordered him as he was the no1 challenger for Duran's title. Thats why Hearns-Duran wasn't a unification fight. A fight between McCallum and Hearns wasn't on the radar at that point.

    That is what I said (McCallum was known as the Bodysnatcher).

    The McCallum/Hearns at 154 came up after the Duran fight, but Tommy decided (rightly in my opinion) to fight Hagler.

    IMO he was a level below the fab four, but was still a great fighter.
