He fought both men a mere month apart and thus could gauge their abilities, strengths and weaknesses pretty accurately. Did he ever make a prediction before their 6/16/1949 fight as to which man would win? Or which one he thought gave him a rougher fight? I've never read any interviews or quotes from Williams in regards to this. It would be interesting to get his perspective.
I don't know but he did well against both despite being 35 years of age and reportedly injured for the Cerdan fight.
