Holmes and Foreman were taller than Ali by at least an inch. Holmes was a legitimate 6'3", as was Foreman. Ali was listed as being 6'3" as well, but he was clearly a little shorter than both Foreman and Holmes. Watch Ali's fight with Joe Bugner. Bugner was 6'4", and he clearly had more than an inch in height over Ali.
No, they were the same height. Had nearly the same reach, Ali longer. Back in the old days the tale of the tape had nothing at all to do with what he'd won, (that was the record) but how big he was, his reach, around the chest, biceps, forearm, fists, thighs, calves, waist. And I'm probably missing some. Holm's was 209 and Ali was 217, and about two inches bigger in chest and evewhere...memory....but that was marbled fat,and not making the weight like a Marciano for Holms. I was still a bit ignorant about marbled fat, of an Ali or a Duran back then. This use to be in the papers for every major fight. Tale of the Tape was in Ring Magazine too, once. A fight with Barrera and some guy form New Mexicao...two writers , did the style and how they saw fight....no were was mentioned height or Barrera had 6 inches of reach......tale of the tape is not done any more. I expected an even fight, not the slaughter 6 inches of reach gives you. Once you used the Tale of the Tape, to finalize your bets.
I think Ali was at least as tall as Larry.George Foreman was a definite 6'3", he looked taller than Norton and Ali.Being that Don King was a legit 6'3", I say Ali was that ( Ironically, Greg Page was also taller than Don ).
Yes. Sometimes you CAN judge a book by it's cover. Both Muhammad and Larry have been recorded on various tales of the tape as being 6'3"
