That was a easy-clear win for JC. I can't stand the guy, but he beat Hopkins clearly. No sane way to give that fight to Bernard. Hopkins also looked to be on his way to getting stopped by pure exhaustion before faking the low blow.

Bhop schooled Slappy, but the fight that you reference is a perfect example of a black champion getting whipped by a white boy.

Not only did Lennox lose, but he got ran out of boxing.

 

I scored the fight for SLappy Joe. But Hopkins scored the cleaner more effective blows. So he sorta lost to a white boy, but not really.




hopkins is a legend. Slaps is on Cocaine. Thats really the only thing that matters.

 

Love Hopkins but he lost this fight. His whole plan was to play spoiler and fight off the back foot and sharp shoot once in a while and clinch and hold. If Calzaghe did not push the action, this would've been one of the most boring fights ever. This was a disgraceful performance by Hopkins. Faking low blows twice. Running pretty much all night. But Hopkins in his prime beats Calzaghe.

 

He lost to 2 white fighters. His psyche was so damaged after he lost his pro debut to clinton mitchell that he didn't fight for 2 years afterwards and dropped 3 weightclases.

 

The pace that Calzaghe set, Hopkins couldn't keep up with. Simple as that. Calzaghe simply did not let Hopkins settle into his nice Sunday stroll pace. Hopkins was never at ease in this fight. But it was still a close fight. Hopkins, with all his guile and skill, did probably land the more harder, cleaner punches, but it just wasn't enough.

They didnt give it to him he earnt it through being the better fighter on the night.
