Against Taylor and Calzage he seemd to try to do just enough to not lose. It backfired and he did lose close decisions. Here he fought like he wanted to win the whole time. He threw a lot more punches than he has as of late and looked like a 258 year old fighter. Did he learn his lesson or was pavlik just an opponent that he was able to do this against wheras the others were not?
You're an indiot wrapped in a moron. I am a huge calzage fan. My post clearly acknowledged the possibility that Hopkins was simply not able to do this against Calzage because he was a better opponent.
It's more a case of styles than Hopkins' fault 100%, Calzaghe was just too fast and threw punches from odd angles, he actually had Hopkins confused in there and desperate at times. Calzaghe's greatness can't be denied in that fight and shouldn't be covered up with a self invented "mistake" from Hopkins. Taylor presented a different style of movement, speed and activity which he was affective with. I had the first fight either for Hopkins or a draw, in the rematch though Taylor won it clearly for me, a close clear UD.
Don't forget the speed factor, he was slower than Calzaghe and Taylor but appeared much faster than Pavlik tonight, its alot easier when you have a speed advantage against such a predictable fighter.
Read my post. "or was this simply an opponent that he was able to dothis against wheras the others were not" I'd say that's a pretty clear indication that it did occur to me.
