I know what people will say, Sergie carried him, bernard is hard to stop. etc etc etc.

But he IS 50...and he isn't the fighter he was vs pavlik or Tarver.

When talking about Serg, ever since the fight, hopkins talks him up like he is the greatest fighter of all time. He corrected Jim Lampley, saying kovalev won because he was just SO GOOD. not because of his age.

Maybe hopkins and kovalev had an unwritten and unspoken agreement to let Kovalev get this win over hopkins to bring him closer to main stream audience.

I know im gonna get bashed for this.

Bernard is not in it for the money..i believe he has money and doesn't fight for money... he never really got paid much to begin with. I just think Sergey was to big for Bernard to bully in the ring. He couldn't push him the first few rounds and after that he just ran a lot.

No Hopkins was schooled and humbled and instead of acting like a b**** he's a real man and gave credit where credit is due, it's a pity most of the Kovalev detractors on here choose the b**** route.

Hopkins is really banking hard on Ward beating Kovalev. The man could be right.

No way Hopkins takes a dive he has too much pride, He was right when he said Kovalev was just too good & too strong.on the night. No one out there to beat Kovalev or Golovkin as I can see:good

I think quite the opposite: Bernard got in too deep, but out of filial respect, The Krusher neglected to finish him.

The agreement was implicit from the begininng.

Didn't Hopkins just recently say it would be bad management if Ward's people put him in the ring with Kovalev anytime soon, and advise against it?

This is true, C:good. But BHop didn't take the same route after Calzaghe beat him.

Bernard's name is and likely will ever be much bigger than Kovalev's, so he had no reason to try to pump him up.
If anything, Kovalev carried him by sticking to the "outboxing" gameplan. If Bhop threw that taunt in the first rounds, he wouldn't have seen the end.

It's not like De la Hoya throwing the fight to launch his fighter Floyd into supers****om
