A few months ago, Khan was THE most hated fighter on ESB, every other comment on topics irrelevant to Khan were"at least he doesnt have a china chin like that fraud Khan!!!" I never understood the hate, for him, all I saw was a talented young fighter on the uprise? Now when I read posts about him, hes getting favored over everybody, cause of his speed, skill and power??? Why cause he beat a shot Barrera??? Not that I'm another Khan hater, I actually think hes pretty good, but why the change of heart, is he in this season or what?
He's going from underrated to overrated. Who cares really, throw him in there with someone who has a pulse, like Bradley or Devon Alexander, and I am willing to bet anyone of these tards they'll tear him a new one. Khan is good, he's well capable of beating bums and such, but he's not on elite level as far as I am concerned. And I would even pick Witter to bang him out in a few rounds.
He's obviously got a lot of talent, but definitely not the complete package. Can see him getting comfortably beat by Maidana if the fight goes ahead.
I haven't changed my stance on him since day 1 although I do believe that he's improved tremendously. I wasn't impressed in the Barrera fight but you could see he was different against Kotelnik. I do believe Roach has already worked wonders on him.
Amir Khan is 23 years old. End of. He is far too young and inexperienced to be questioned like this. I am a big fan of Khans, but even I know he hasn't beat any noteworthy opponents that we could really measure him on. But since he teamed with Roach, they haven't lost a single round, now that he has his confidence sorted [That was the only reason he fought Antonio] and has a steady trainer, expect him to fight top fighters now. And until then, theres no point in asking if he is underrated or overrated.
The lad is only 23 for crying out loud, at least allow him to develop near his peak before matching him with the likes of Bradley. Yes he has bags of talent, and yes he has those question marks surrounding him just like any other young prospect. It'll be interesting to how much further Roach can develop him, and with the recent speculation of him taking on Maidana's challenge, we'll finally get a chance to him tested against some serious power pressure from a live opponent. But until a fight like that is finally made, the jury is still out on the relatively green Amir.
HaHa Khan will be protected from bombers until one day even a feather fister guy like Malignaggi will land the A-Bomb on his Hiroshima chin. So sad he wont give Maidana a chance...Didnt Khan beat Kotelnik? Why is he then afraid to fight Maidana?
Im a convert, I think hes developing under Roach, he has a lot more power in his shots and I like the way he fights. He still throws flurries but this time with power, only other fighter I know that does that (flurries with power) is Pac. I use to like him, still liked him when he got KTFO, was a bit annoyed when he embarrased and cut a past it MAB but that was it. Suspected his chin and still do, but he has world class talent.
