Utter bull****. Even Stevie Wonder could see it in Calzaghe's face that he knew he had won when Frank Warren came over and basically told him straight prior to Buffer announcing it.

 

Watch it again in that case!

 

He was of course a little anxious and was just anticipating to see if the judges would actually call it. Despite being told it by your manager you would obviously be desperate to hear it from the mouth of Buffer.

Can you blame him, there would obviously be thoughts crossing his mind that they just might do a Lewis/Holyfield.

 

Mate I was just having a chuckle at how he has a tad slow to realise he's won. Buffer said "from Newbridge, Wales" and Calzaghe still didn't seem to realise he'd won.

 

On the HBO broadcast, it was actually leaked that Hopkins was winning near the end of the fight on one of the judge's scorecards, and that someone had informed Hopkins' corner of it. My guess is that if the info made it to the announcer's table, it probably made it's way to Calzaghe's corner as well. I think that's why there was that kind of near desperation out of Enzo.

i saw that mike - i thought it was some delay, maybe he just needed it to sink in?

but mikes right, it took an extra second for joe to celebrate cos i stopped mid cheer to think why he not celebrating?
