I thought Cortez early in the fight....was involved too much...as it went on he allowed Hatton to do whatever he wished....and Hatton was introduced to a ring post....if anything he should have begged Cortez to stay involved because now i hear the ring post is suing!

You need to blame Hatton's pitiful Chin.

What a dumb thread. Look when Cortez did too much break up, Hatton was winning rounds but when Cortez finally let the wrestling tactics go on, Mayweather was winning with cleaner harder shots on Hatton.

No Cortez only got in when they were holding, but he letem duke it out. Floyd basically systematically little by little started beating Hatton at his own game. Had Hatton gone mire to the body and keep his hands up in the center of the ring he would of made it a close fight. It was competitive till the 7th when Floyd clearly started taking over.

It aint funny that Hattons head hit the top turnbuckle!! He might of been able to survive if not for that double impact

Cortez was most definetly 2 involved, espicially early. This is coming from a Mayweather fan. Watch it now, without the hype/emotions and most knowledgeable observers will realize that Cortez broke up the action 2 soon and seemed to be "picking" on Ricky. Of course observers can point to Cortez eliminating "Hook and Hold" Ricky Hatton.

Then there is the point that when Hatton was "allowed" 2 operate inside, he did no signifigant damage. Round 4 was a inside war with Hatton throwing everything at Mayweather and Mayweather defending brilliantly. Floyd then closed out the round with a damaging right, left, right that got the crowd going.

The fight probably would have been different if Hatton wasn't ordered 2 stop his usual inside/wrestling tactics. But IMO. the result would have been the same. A surging Mayweather cleanly picking apart a tiring Hatton, most likely by stoppage.

Cortez helped Void win they fight by not allowing him to fight on the inside early, Cortez also took a point away from Hatton for accidently hitting a ring rope! Watch the fight and see for yourself.............

Anytime Hatton got close enough to hit PBF Cortez broke them up. Cortez ruined what could have been a great fight.

Cortez is by far the crappiest ref in pro boxing.
