Did Joe Cortez ruin Hatton vs Mayweather?

the first couple of rounds, i thought cortez broke up the action a bit too soon... but afterwards, he did a great job... all the complaining from some people is just sour apples... when two fighters get both their arms tangled together and aren't throwing punches and just hugging, you ARE suppose to break them so that action can resume...

 

I think the problem with Cortez is inconsistancy.
Hatton was holding excessively at times but Cortez was extra quick to break the fight. I dont think Cortez did anything wrong, Its boxing not wrestling.
Yet when Calzaghe fought Hopkins, Cortez allowed Hopkins to hold more than Hatton.

Cortez is just an awful ref. He let Hatton do his thing vs Castillo and then was the complete opposite in the fight vs Money.

Anyone who thinks Cortez did a good job that fight is either a ***** or just ****ing stupid.
He was terrible, shockingly bad. I'm all for refs breaking clinches where nothing clean is happening but that **** was jumping in when Hatton got within breathing distance. Add the fact that he pretty much let Mayweather do what he pleased whilst talking to Hatton for the slightest little thing.

Mayweather could beat Hatton with his eyes closed, he didn't need the ref on his side for the entire fight.

I was disgusted with Parris who's the British equivelant of Cortez, it was horrible what he let Hatton get away with.
Who uses the "he got what was coming to him" line? I want to see good referreing every time, I'm not so petty as to think "haha, revenge!!".

Some of us just want good clean refereeing regardless who's in the ring.

 

Cortez was breaking up clinches that didn't exist. He ****ed up what would've been a competitive fight.

 

No.A previous poster to a large extent mentioned the same(about fighters too often being pulled apart).BTW the same ref was in Hattons fight previous to that,against Castillo where Hatton was allowed to fight without being pulled off every 5 seconds.Mayweather would`ve beat Hatton anyway,always a class above Hatton but Cortez was acting like a bent ref in that fight.
