Did Joe Louis ever spoke about Liston taking heroin?

    Since they were good friends in Listons final days, often hang out and Joe Louis took drugs. He must have known if Liston was using.

    We always hear his wife said he was scared of needles. I would like to know if Louis ever spoke about Listons death and possible drug use?

    Years ago I read an article where Joe commented that Sonny never took heroin.

    There are stories that it was Joe Louis who introduced Liston to heroin.

    But this is strange, murky stuff. It would be rare for a guy to say about his dead friend "yeah that guy used to bang heroin" and it would be weird for him to talk about introducing his man to heroin. Nobody knows.
