    :D

This is like the John Isner vs Nicolas Mahut match at Wimbledon a few years ago.

The thing is Pugs, when I saw the thread's title earlier, it got me thinking "I have heard this before...but where?" Then I thought did i have the fight review from the Ring? But then realised my earliest issue is the one with Rex Layne on the cover (so a year or so after that fight). Was it one of those Jimmy Cannon retrospectives they used to repeat in the likes of KO? Maybe. But then, I remembered, I know it from here...from about 15 years ago! So it seems it has still not been confirmed.

This reminds me of the Ridley Scott film The Duellists, where two 19th century French officers regularly meet up to fight in fencing battles over a period of about 25 years. So I think McVey is right- this one should finally be settled. En Garde!

Wait, just to be clear, after admitting Marciano was missing front teeth and stating he wore a bridge and stating categorically that he had his teeth knocked out BEFORE fight Louis, Mcvey is backtracking and saying that in fact his teeth just looked like that? Sounds like someone just wants to argue and has now chosen himself as an opponent.

I've never said Marciano had his teeth knocked out, there are several reasons why teeth are extracted that do not include being punched in the mouth.
Nor have I said his teeth," just looked like that ,"that was the observation of another poster.

Originally YOU made a statement that Louis knocked out Marciano's teeth,YOU based this on a photograph.not on any primary evidence, from Marciano,Louis, any of their biographers or boxing journalists who were present at their fight, nor from the film of the fight.
You've been flying high, calling me a moron, senile, a liar, stupid, a fan boy,a hero worshipper,an old fool ,Grandpa, half wit, and other choice endearments.
WHAT YOU HAVEN'T DONE IS OFFER A SINGLE MORSEL OF PROOF TO BACK YOUR CLAIM.

I've asked a question of the forum YOU accused me of trying to enlist help.
Why would I need help debating with you?
Who exactly are you that anyone should be intimidated by debating with you?
    You have written a book,congratulations.
Several of my friends have ,and more than one ,but I feel no need to genuflect in front of them.
This may come as rather a shock to you ,but you are viewed here as another poster, not as some kind of Pugilistic Messiah.
We are all too familiar with your sneeringly, abrasive condescension. and conceited diatribes towards anyone who disagrees with you, however mildly, regrettably its intrinsic to your nature.
It's a real shame, you have a lot to offer any forum ,if only you could reign in your egocentric tendency to lecture all and sundry in the most discourteous manner.
You seriously need to get over yourself.

Wait, are we talking about Tennis? Great, now I have to go learn Tennis so I can understand a post on a boxing forum. "What's the world coming too?" And yes that's a Robert De Niro quote.

Perhaps the main take away is that public persona can sometimes unfortunately be a faithful reflection of someone’s day to day, true life character = miserable. Just as well we never see tantrums like the one below at BN24 -.

Remaining on the tennis theme: -
