Nah, but he hurt his legacy by not fighting DM and Calzaghe in his prime..Calzaghe wouldve busted him up back in their primes

lol :rofl Roy Jones would have knock calzaghe out cold back then. a 100 yrs old jones knockdown calzaghe for pit sake. In his prime jones would have finish him in the 1st round. After getting KD jones would use his speed to **** calzaghe's world up. Jones by KTFO :good

Hindsight is 20/20 as to what fights should have been made, but there was never a good point to make a Calzaghe fight.

Jones had moved to LHW before Calzaghe came on the scene.

And if you went with the hypothetical prime for prime, Roy would have to be the clear favourite.

And Darius ducked Roy as much as Roy ducked Darius.

Yes he most certainly hurt his legacy. After the fight he was considered a head to head superman with the fastest reflexes ever seen and a step above his fellow competition, nowadays he's considered chinny and some believe Calzaghe would have beaten him in a prime for prime sense. He would have had that invincible mystique about him that would make him highly respected for years to come.

    Obviously, yes.

If he had retired after the first Tarver fight, or right after Ruiz, he goes down possibly as the greatest ever. At least Top 5, because we would never have seen him beaten, and the ability he possessed....

    I was responding to this:

And after Hearns, Hagler's only loss was to Leonard.

He definitely hurt his legacy by fighting on after Ruiz, or even after the first Tarver fight, but I doubt knowledgable fans are really going to discredit how good he really was before his downfall late in his career.

Yes only somewhat because of his two KO losses ..But history will remember more his accomplishments than his demise ..

RJJ could've retired after the Ruiz fight, but should've definitely retired after the 1st Tarver fight...then Calzaghe would've baited him out of retirement earlier and he would've beat Calzaghe...would've been top 10-15 ATG had he done it like that...now he's about a top 25-30 ATG which still is very good...
