And would Jones have beaten Froch at this time?

(Man I forgot how damn good he looked against Lacy - combinations even more beautiful than in his prime, speed even faster and inside game much improved - WTF!?!)

Lacey was ****ing done. Froch would of smashed the same version of RJJ.

Roy was a ghost of the former great fighter he once was when he faced Joe C.......Still put Joe on his arse......Imagine a remotely still quick and sharp RJJ vs Joe......Lights out.

:lol:Anyone can look good against a punching bag.

As an aside, Jones's handspeed has been retained more than any of his other attributes. He's still got about 80% of prime handspeed in bursts. What's really fallen off is his footspeed (big time), stamina, defensive reflexes (another huge one), and durability.

100% right. Although I don't think Jones was ever durable, but he had the reflexes to never let it show.

    This is embarrassing At seriously...

  12. No, and not even close.

Jeff Lacy, incorrectly in hindsight, was considered by many experts to be one of the potential future stars of boxing when he thought Calzaghe. The Lacy who fought Jones Jr was still traumatised by the beaten he took that night and not only a shell of a fighter but also a man.

Not a good comparrison to be honest.

Joe was not his former self in his fight with Jones, his power was long gone, but his recovery rate was still great.
Going back to both fighter in their prime i have to go 50/50 Could Jones hack Joes workrate and variety and constant pressure plus his stronger punch power he had in his prime?? Jones was a thinker and fought safety first and in bursts, Would Joe have given him that time to think?? As for Jones speed would Joe have adjusted as he normally did in fights?? Plus Jones always had stamina issues whereas Joes was top notch.

Obviously Jones' chin is awful, but the rest of him was never as far gone as most of us once believed. Even at this stage of his deterioration he still took the **** out of Lebedev for ten rounds, and Lebedev is a ****ing monster on the European stage.
