No, it WAS working when he was using it - he didn't use it enough, though when he remember to get it going again he controlled things nicely. He threw WAY more punches than jabs according to compubox... which will be part of the perceived gassing.

    "Perceived" gassing? He was gassed.

    You Parker nut-huggers are hilarious.

He was gassed. You are right.

We agree with you on that one.

    Only a bonafide Joshua nut-gobbler thinks there's such a thing as a Parker nut-hugger.

Oh Parker scares you all so much, its palpable, I can smell the fear through your posts.

Don't call me a nut hugger - I've been as objective as probably anyone here about this in general, I guess "perceived gassing" was a bit OTT... that wording was more to do with being a bit frustrated with the haters here talking nonsense so it seems a bit like discussing this rationally doesn't pay off. Lesson learnt, don't stoop to the level of some of you guys here. My bad.

I agree, he was clearly getting his work rate vs fitness wrong at points in the fight BUT if he was out of gas in the 6th then the fight would have been over, Takam would have won. Parker regrouped and threw a good percentage of the overall power punches from the whole fight just in one flurry in the 8th after he was "gassed" - and then funnily enough gassed again for a bit. He looked better at points in the 10th and 11th round than he did in the mid rounds, though by 12 you could see both guys were pretty relieved that it was the end of the fight.

What I was thinking of when I said "perceived gassing" was people are talking like he was literally done by the mid rounds where as realistically the way he was fighting in the later rounds he'd probably have still knocked out most (or all) of the guys he has previously KO'd if they'd been tagged in after the 5th.

I'm suggesting that he had the fitness to do this same fight with the same amount in the tank but less gassing by tidying up his game.

At least he took a real test of a fight.
Having got through it it will do him the world of good.
They now know there are plenty of areas he needs to improve.
Better to find out now than in a title fight.

It was an average performance by Parker and there were negatives, quite a few actually but there also a few positives that I think are being ignored.

I know he looked sloppy, his stamina looked suspect and his defence looked non existent at times. I know that doesn't sound good but despite all those things he still won, he got the all important W.

Those are things that can be corrected and improved on. Parker is only 24, he is far from the finished article and this was his first real test.

I personally liked his attitude in the fight, he was struggling to catch a second wind and looked gassed but he dug in, kept going and managed the last 4 rounds well all things considered.

His chin looked solid enough, although Takam isn't exactly a monster puncher Parker didn't look hurt at any point and he did take quite a few flush shots.

We've seen Joshua get hurt by Whyte, struggle for a couple of rounds but go on to win and then go on to a world title. we've also seen Fury get dropped by Cunningham and get up to win and go on the be regarded the best HW on the planet.

I wouldn't write off Parker, the first time he was tested he passed, yes he struggled but he passed. I think that was a superb learning experience for Parker and I think he will come on bundles for it

24 yeal old guy beats a former top ten/current top 15 contender and is derided because the performance wasn't perfect.

Guess he should be a real man and fight the Molinas, Duhauapas,Whytes and Gergjajs of the world.

Think Joshua can bully him with his size and strength.

He looked gassed, and fighting someone bigger, stronger and harder hitting will make you gass out quicker. Good fighter though.

Way way way down, down to where he actually lost. He was fight adverse, vanes came to fight, lara came strictly not to lose.

All lare knew he had to do was not suffer a couple kd's, make it to the final standing and he'd win..

Any version of lara last 3 running, literally running rounds fm v d King gggg

his power is overrated. seems to lack stamina. if it wasnt for his chin takam would have won
