They had four battles but by winning the fourth did JMM win the overall war, so to speak?

I'd say so....tbh I'm just glad that we got their quadrilogy...every fight had something different n showed different facets of themselves as fighters... Two the most skilled of their generation battling up through the divisions..their rivalry was epic.

That ko is the most emotional a reaction I've ever had during a fight

Márquez is greater then Paquiao head to head… facts.

GGG has the ability to do the same vs Canelo
    Once & for ALL!

    Yes I think so

If they had stopped at the trilogy and never had that 4th fight, then I would’ve said that Pacquiao got the better of the trilogy. As imo, he edged the 1st fight and clearly won the 2nd, with the 3rd being a draw or very close 115-113 Pacquiao win.

But with the emphatic ending of the 4th fight, you have to say that Marquez had the most meaningful and conclusive victory.

Heavily tainted with 99% of the free world believing he injected himself with more drugs than a Rite-Aid pharmacy.

I'd rather be Marquez than Pacquiao as far as their rivalry is concerned

Of course. There previous 3 fights all ended in controversy whereas the 4th had an definitive result that couldn’t be argued. That’s why he wasn’t interest in a 5th fight.

The Same can be said for GGG vs Canelo. If GGG KO’s Canelo I can guarantee he will retire and wouldn’t consider a 4th fight. The first 2 fights were VERY controversial so a definitive victory would close the chapter.

Arguably won all 4 fights, even if I scored it 2-1-1 for Marquez.

Just like Ruiz won the Joshua series.
KO's usually trump other wins unless there's something wrong with the stoppage or the stopped fighter is over the hill etc.

Marquez probably was roided but it just goes to show how Pac got his power, doesn't it?
