Took the words out of my mouth...I was just about to say the same thing about Pep-Saddler.

Pac won two bouts clearly, and was winning the fourth until he ran and stabbed himself onto JMM's fist.

Pac was robbed in the first fight due to a judge lacking basic math skills.

Second fight was razor close w/ Pac edging it with the KD.

Third fight was razor close with volume vs. clean punches.

Fourth fight, well, the roids came through for Marquez.

When you ice someone THAT badly and you not only did not retire the guy, but he went on to remain a top dog for 10 more years while breaking more records. Nacho Beristain creams himself talking about Pacquiao. He doesn't cream himself talking about Marquez.

I'd say so. I had Marquez winning one of the first three fights and he produced the most definitive conclusion to any of their fights. The most dramatic high level icing I've seen in my lifetime.

That he was roided to the gills though does take something away from the win imo.

I had JMM winning 4 fights. First fight the rounds were close but I gave Jmm at least 9 of them. Pac got first 2 and one other but cant remember then the 2nd fight JMM won more clearly then the third he won clearer than the first 2 and the 4th was the first time he was ignoring point scoring and going for the KO which he said he was going to do. He just had Pacs number imo. Great wars though that have great rewatchable value.

I'll go over my scores for the fights over the series and just general thoughts

Fight 1 I gave to Manny by a point... basically Juan boxed and warred beautifully but left himself in too big a hole after the first round...he sure as **** didn't win every round from the second onwards.

Fight 2 great little technical fight again ..I thought Marquez won by 2 points...can't remember my individual scoring of the rounds..while I've seen it about 12 times ...last time was a few years ago.

Marquez Vs Pacquiao 3... Easiest to score Marquez fought the perfect fight and boxed his ears off...no matter what anyone or hbo says..that fight was not close

    118-110 Marquez...at worst 117-111. Absolute daylight robbery.

4th fight... Manny absolutely battered Marquez...Marquez planted his feet and went to war..more willing to stay in the fire to get the ko....in my mind he knew that fight was truly ko or get koed n he went for it.... In a way he was lucky ...cos he was on his way to being stopped...but he practiced that punch n timed it to perfection..it was glorious

Of Course it doesnt mean he won the rivalry just becauise he won the last fight in the most convincing manner of the 4 fights. Thats like saying an NBA team wins the championship despite losing 4-1 in the finals just because they won their 1 game by blowout when the other 4 games went to overtime

But the first 3 fights werent convincing enough to claim wins.
Apollo creeds I wont but I didnt beat him quote spring to mind.

Pac marquez fights was like a movie where either guy was going equal and it was ending with one deciding punch whoever got to pull ot off first.
Marquez beat him to the punch.
Pac doesnt get caught he would stop Marquez mayb in the next round and win the rivalry.

The roids did tarnish it for me. Came in with acne and punching like a mule. Even hit Alvarado across the ring in a subsequent fight

Winning by 1 point isnt a convincing win, but its still a win and doing it more times than your opponent wins the competition

Yeah but ots a judgement bases sport.
Unlikr bbal or football its not clear who won by 1 point.
I think of we put up polls you will find Pac edges out fight 1, second is a toss up and Marquez won the third.
Them coming into that fourth fight 1-1-1 is a reasonable overall take imo.
