i rewatched the fight last night because for one it was that good but i also wanted to hear in on Kats corner to see what they said to him. Its too bad because HBO cut them out and went to some 9th round highlights. is there anyway to know if he was advised to go for the ko like he did?

i also want to say that after re-watching the last knockdown that the ref was def on point for stopping the fight. i even think that a lot of refs would have stopped the fight right after the knockdown because Katsidis was still staggering and didnt look very responsive had the ref checked on him a little more.

EDIT: ha ha stupid me, i meant the 10th round of course. heh

He just got caught. He was coming forward every single round and exposing himself. He was getting hit with shots all night long coming in but the one that did him in was a perfect shot with him coming in which created the extra force in the punch. So he was just doing what he was doing all night long.

Yeah, they all knew those championship rounds were going to deceide it, so they had to impress by going for the attack.

Katsidas had the spirit and heart to do it, but his body just couldnt take anymore.

did his corner really say that? i dont remeber hearing anything like that.

if thats true then, its the corners fault he got ko'd.

your being way too hard on him.... he went out to close the show as a ****ing warrior, not to leave it in the judges hands... he got cought, big ****ing deal, im suprised to see the **** your saying, especially from a feroz fan. You should understand the spirit of a warrior like that.... He was tired as hell, leading on the scorecards and STILL wanted to finish the job. He wasnt stupid he was just FEROCIOUS.

nah he was stupid, you gonna come here and tell me to my face that he wasn't stupid when even he admitted it? Also, he came out running at Casa at the sound of the bell in round 10.

Maybe not verbatim, but something along those lines. They knew it was close and that he needed to win those championship rounds.

Casa was there for the taking, he was a few punches away from being gone. You cant blame Katsidis or the corner he was on the verge and Casa got lucky thats all. You have to give it to Casa he won with nothing more but guile, guts
experience and luck. However at this point Casa is past it bad.

Of course he says he was stupid...

If he would have finished casa like he almost had him before.. he would be a hero

He got cought - so hes stupid

i dont think he deserves to be called stupid for trying to go for the kill, and never will.

    i dont agree with that.

i paid close attention during the 9th round when i rewatched the fight. Casa was never hurt and he made the round close if he didnt win it. there really wasnt any indication that he 'was there for the taking' at the end of that round.

i wouldnt call Katsidis stupid for what he did, his mistake was caused because of his inexperience(if his corner didnt advice him to go all out). im sure he's learned his lesson from it.

all credit given to Casamayor for the win by the way. he won by taking quick advantage of his opponents mistake.:good

did you look at Casas legs they were shaky he was breathing hard, a sustained assault would have taken him out. Casa is not the fighter he was, he simply is a great veteran and caught Katsidis with a good shot.
CasaMayor was there for the taking. I dont mean ready to go down from a punch, what I mean is he was ready and set to be taken.
