I think this is the most sensible. This content is protected One can subdivide themselves as many times as they wish, I can be a Kentuckian, I can be a Louisvillian, and further subdivide myself by neighborhood and family name...but I'm still a citizen of the United States and an American. To deny this would be strange. And the posts about being "proud" "pure blood" English and not British...I don't know, they rub me the wrong way...just from my viewpoint. And others in that forum even awknowledge that it looks kind of bad.
ah, but as a citizen of Great Britain can you be English AND British? American by definition is anyone who is legally eligible to live in the continental United States... Well Hawaii too.. We like to keep it simple so yes... Well maybe we'll create one, then go invade a dozen countries and impose it on them.. Will that help? True but I like to think we improved them Yeah well going up against an empire with pitch forks and machetes doesn't typically end well, so if you can enlist mercenaries so can we. You had the upper hand and we still won. Pseudo history? I gave NO history. I was reporting what I had read on a wiki page and stated that it confused me. Then received a history lesson from someone who is clearly touchy about the subject.
Ha, American production. Mostly British cast and location. Naked Alien Space Vampires invade and destroy London. An 80s classic very close to my heart.
I think I saw that.. 80's films rocked. Hey you know what I like? when British actors speak with American accents and when American actors speak with British accents. How cool is that?
You know what's cooler than that? In Die Hard, the British Alan Rickman does a German accent doing an American accent.
Yes.. Hans Gruber was the character's name I believe and what a splendid job he did at a two dimensional persona.
So in other words a dog can be born in a stable, but it doesn't make it a horse. That type of stuff is at the futbol games. Might some citizens born in England from immigrant parents disagree? Is Lennox Lewis English? His parents were Jamaican. By your logic he's not. In the USA if your born here, you're American.
In the 80's movies were more original, and the films relied on acting as much as special effects. On the plus side the British/English have a good amount of actors and musicians with talent. Unfortunately most of them are dead or older. The younger generation of Brits isn't as good. At least the ones I saw were very lazy, badly out of shape, and pub hungry. But they'll listen to any story you might have and are rather friendly.
I went to England twice.. Once when I was 13 and again when I was about 24. I'd go again for sure. Kinda wish I had lived there for maybe a year when I was young and still single.
Had to laugh at the idea of "english pure blood". With immigration onto the island ever increasing, it seems the mongrelization some turn there nose up at has arrived at there door step. Can't wait to plan my next trip to Londonistan.
