I'm glad you won ,trying to retain the US as a colony was ridiculous. Pitchforks and Machetes? I really don't think so, even your Native Americans ,the ones you continually massacred and failed to honour every treaty with, had flintlocks. I'm not touchy on the subject and I never used the words proud or pure in regard to my ancestry, that was Mong trying his insidious best to stir the sh*t. I just thought I'd have some fun at your collective expense , and it elicited the response I expected.
Did I ever mention the word PURE? You are confusing what I actually posted and the sly little words that Mong inserted.
Funny how you so readily credited Americans with slaughtering natives when in fact many of the early settlers were British/English and played their part in the genocide. And if you think the colonist's militia was anyway shape or form organized or prepared for a war with one of the strongest empires in the world by any standard you're crazy... We simply pulled on Oliver McCall on you guys.
Just a brief one then I'll desist. The systematic"cleansing" of the Native Americans didn't really get off the ground until after the Civil War I don't think you can really term those of the 1870's onwards," early settlers".For example the Wounded Knee massacre occurred on Dec 29th 1890.. Here is Chief Big Foot , murdered under the Stars and Stripes by your army. This content is protected Now peace Mr Magoo.
I'd have preferred Scotland to vote for their independence, it was offered but they rejected it. Wales and Scotland both have some absolutely beautiful country, both also have some real financial problems.
I look at it mostly the same way, but with some exceptions, and from the point of view of the champion. People will point to the low grade of some (many) of Ali's opponents to besmirch his standing. But that hardly matters. I judge him more on the AGTs and very good wins he had, and I don't care how many 'lesser' opponents he had. Similarly, so long as Vitali (or any champion) fights all their mandatories and a goodly number of highly ranked opponents (say three top opponents / year), it hardly matters if they want to give the occasional long-shot a chance.
If Alfred the Great had managed to achieve dominion over the entire island of Great Britain and a quarter of its western neighbour, I'm pretty sure he would have thought he was master of an 'English empire.'
By the time of his death Alfred was recognized as King of England though never formally crowned such. He defeated the Danes twice and came to make a peace with them where they had dominion over the land north of the Thames and Alfred was ruler over West Mercia Kent and King of Wes***. Alfred was smart enough to build our first Navy to forestall the Danes reneging on the treaty. He appears to have been a force for good. It seems if the Irish had been content to leave well alone they would not have been interfered with significantly until much later. But being as they were a stroppy bunch even in the early days, we spent a great deal of time and effort trying to subdue them to little effect, that is until Cromwell came on the scene.
He had a 0, nearly 30 wins... He certainly wouldn't be the least deserving of all time, not even close.
