Thanks. I'm aware of when most of the slaughter took place. Just pointing out that some of it started way before that. In either case we can leave the topic alone. Good to converse about something other than boxing once in a while :good

Most of the early USA settlers who massacred the Indians were from the UK.

    The Spanish were even worse.

Not sure what your point is here, McVey.

All this is fairly common knowledge by the end of form three.

My point earlier, was that the current UK was enough territory to constitute an empire at one time, and to respond to your remark that you no longer had an empire. The last remnants of it are still ruled from Westminster.

Hence, you still have the rump of one.[/quote]

This bit appears to come from left field. We went from Alfred and Brian days, both fighting the Norse, to Plantagenet times and the Anglo-Norrman incursions, for little apparent reason.

The last bit, even more so.

    And the mention of Oliver.

A bit like saying that European Jews were hard to subdue, till Adolf came along.

I'm at a loss here, McVey.

It was only a bit of fun.
My family go back to Germany on my Father's side surname Raeder , and Denmark on my Mother's,surname Haggar.
So I'm as mongrelized as the next man.

The British Empire has plenty of blood on its hands too .
You don't conquer people with sweets and chocolate:lol:

And we invented the first concentration camps in the South African Boer War.

No point really my thread was hijacked quite while ago so I chilled out just talking sh*t with the rest .I didn't' feel like discussing the merits of Roberto Duran and the person who did, referred to me as a Brit it just sort of took off from there.

    Always keep people off balance.
My username is from Sam McVey.

Correction it was the other thread that Mong fu8ked up.
    No matter.

I was half expecting the upset.

Kevin was classed as really slick back then and considered to have one of the best jabs around.

He marked Vitali up pretty good as well despite losing most rounds.

The massacres of the Native Americans,I believe that is the correct term nowadays? [I'll have to ask Buffy Sainte Marie when I see her next,] occurred after the Civil War those settlers were predominantly from Eastern Europe. Exterminating the Buffalo was a deliberate policy to subdue those tribes that kept whupping the Army's butt, a policy originated ,and implemented by US Grant who ,after the War went into politics I believe ?, And subsequently into a whiskey bottle.
I wouldn't expect you to be up to speed on your own history. I remember you trying to tell me Red Necks were English settlers too!

    Time to move on.

Despite not landing many punches and fighting a totally negative fight!
One wonders what he might have achieved had he actually tried to win?

Before the fight, KINGPIN, said to me..."I have a daughter, I'm fighting Vitali F'ing Klitschko, I may never see my daughter again". So, there was some type of fear leading into the fight, and that did play a small part of KJ's style. He did tear his bicep in the 2nd round, had surgery performed by Dr. James Andrews; but all that is technically irrelevant, because he had the Golden Opportunity; for once Vitali looked old and vulnerable in a fight and KJ did not capitalize on it...!!!

Raeder and Haggar. Love those names. I'm Italian, Irish, German, and even a dash of native American ( though I don't know where the hell it came from. )

I've always thought that some of the Native American
Chiefs were very striking looking men Quanah Parker, who had a white Mother was a handsome man . Both Louis and Dempsey has some "red blood"if I may use the term.

I didn't know he carried an injury through that fight. Holmes had something similar against Norton. Johnson came alive in the closing moments and Vitali was standing flatfooted, marked around both eyes, with his mouth open, wishing for the bell. King Pin's over here in May, fighting our new prospect Anthony Joshua. It will be interesting if he can take him into deep water.

I think I'm only looking at about 5 or 10%. My father is 100% Italian so that accounts for half of my bloodline. Mother is mostly irish with a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

I can't wait for the Joshua fight....also KJ is working with Dillian Whyte right now, and Whyte has asked if he gets a promoter would KJ fight him in England...!!!

KJ is another in a long line of should-have, would-have, could-have type of fighters...sucks his old management screwed his career up; taking fights on short notice, placing him in Prizefighter, etc.
