I became one. That kid has talent. I expected him to beat Paulie not a complete shutout. He outboxed a very good boxer at his own game. His defense and movement has improved. Too many people put too much into his loss by KO. It happens. This is boxing. Many past champions have been KOd. They should match him with Prescott. I think that would silence many. How many naysayers would actually put real money on Prescott to win?
He will never rematch Prescott, even the fight would be the defining point in his career right now. If he fought Prescott and beat him it would silence all of the critics and Khan could say that he has beat the fighter to have ever beaten him. Saying that, if the fight did happen, I would say Khan would last around 1:26 seconds this time.
I thought he was very anxious and quite sloppy at times but he completely outclassed Paulie, it was a fairly good performance. I think he has talent and potential but I want to see him face some decent opposition, Maidana, Bradley, Alexander even Ortiz
I thought he did well, he beat Paulie to the punch most of the fight which is to be expected with a height and reach advantage. I still don't think last night was a good gauge of how good Khan is, his defence and reflexes are sharp but knowing you don't need to back off because the opponent's punches have no effect can make a difference. Plus bear in mind Paulie's chin was up in the air throughout the entire fight begging to be hit - and he gave off an air of apathy...Paulie switches off all the time and does stupid ****, he was there to be beaten because he has no focus.
I'd like to see him in with a pressure fighter to gain experience as I think he will fail spectacularly against a decent one. He needs to be prepared for someone who will bring it, I can picture him backing off chin in the air..............
Good showing, but not convinced yet. Precision, speed, the jab...very impressive. Lacked a little combination punching though. Until he fights a real puncher like Maidana, i aint hopping in to the bandwagon just yet.
I think he could well be a great fighter seeing as he is still only 23 his obvious problem is his chin
looked good against someone he knew couldnt hurt him. i want to see him fight again so i guess you could say im sort of a fan.
Not sold on him yet, but if he fights a puncher next, stay on his feet all night and look about as good as he did against Malignaggi.. He will have a new fan here, yep But i have a strong feeling another Breidis Presscott shocker will be just around the corner
Although I don't think I will ever like Khan, I will acknowledge the skills the guy has. He may be a twat, but like it or not, he has faster hands than anyone in the sport, (that includes Mayweather and Manny, also for those who actually know something about boxing...Gamboa) I believe he has a great chance against Bradley. Punchers, however, will always be troublesome for him. If he had a chin, he would undoubtedly become an ATG imo.
He gained a fan in me. I give him props for the post fight interview especially. Good kid with his heart in the right place but I fear Maidana's all wrong for him and will brutally KO him.
