Yeah Kotelnik's low workrate didn't help him though I wouldn't call him a "worse version of Clottey". Kotelnik looked great against Alexander overall and DA might become an A level fighter if he isn't already(he's pushing it but I'm not sure he's there now). Clottey never beats A level fighters in his division though Kotelnik is a B level fighter himself.
Did you watch Clottey-Cotto? If you gave Kotelnik wins against Witter/Alexander I'd expect you to give Clottey the win over Cotto. He also beat Judah and Corrales
Good point with Clottey-Cotto forgot about that lol. I still have my memories of Pac-Clottey in my mind that I forgot about his performance against Cotto. TBH, I haven't seen Cotto-Clottey in awhile it's worth a rewatch. Judah was B level when Clottey beat him & Corrales wasn't A level either when Clottey beat him. I'll give him props for his performance against Cotto you're right about that. I even scored it for Clottey even though I'm a Cotto fan.
To be fair though the Judah Clottey beat was younger than the Witter who Kotelnik lost to. ANd we know Judah beat Witter convicingly, although Clottey was also bigger than Judah. Clottey was beating Marg for 5rounds too. The Pacquaio fight was freezing under pressure imo, Clottey really got physqued out he was capable to test Pac far more imo All in all Kotelnik hasn't faced an A LEvel opponent as far as I'm concerned and I think the robbery talk is unjustified, close fights but he didn't do enough imo Even the Mbaiye fight he got outsped and outlanded in (I havent the first of those 2). I think Clottey is better than Kotelnik, his speed, right and left hook are better and his defense as tight. Both tricky technicians who can test the top fighters but against a true elite will both get soundly beat
Well Khan & Alexander imo are pushing A level if they're not there yet. Clottey did impress me against Cotto but I just prefer and am a fan of Kotelnik. I do agree that both get beat soundy by elite fighters modt of the time if not all.
