Did last saturday night proved Canelo is a bigger draw then Chavez Jr?

    That just tells me canelo is popular. Doesn't indicate he's a bigger draw. Chavez vs. Martinez ALSO sold out, a larger venue, and didn't have to give away as many free/comped tix as they did for the Alvarez fight. My position is, right now, there's no solid barometer to say who's the bigger draw. Close friends and family only tell you preference. Comparative numbers are a better indication.

    Chavez Jr. has TV Azteca behind him, so it's the same ****...

    both have many casual fans here, but also both are mostly perceived as overhyped products made by both TV companies... and while Chavez Jr. "won" respect by many hardcore fans, they still think he sucks...

    yes, canelo is a much bigger draw than chavez jr. if and when he fights sergio, it will generate much greater ppv sales than chavez jr-martinez will.

    Canelo is way moré popular in México than jr. I live in Mexico 6 months out of the year and everyone knows jr is been fed costales ( punch bags).
