No ****!! In terms of punch resistance, you couldn't get more different, too!

Mercer's chin was granite, Austin's glass. :deal

All had fought nobodies until Joe, which is why he KO'd them.

Took me a while to realize what you were trolling about  I tough i had written Mercer, not Austin. Maybe i wrote Austin because it is a foreign name, wich i never hear, so it's all the same to me.

Whatever, anyway, no one of the two had a particularly sturdy chin.

Mercer was stopped in 6 by Wladimir, in 7 by Briggs, while he went the distance with Lennox.

Having a Chin is the most important attribute for a Boxer to have. Ask David Price, James Kirkland, Amir Khan, or Set Mitchell if having a Chin matters.

That's because Zeljko Mavrovich was an ATG warrior with a certified granite chin. His best win before facing Lewis was a win over the fearsome Julius Francis :deal:deal:deal

Mercer was 41 and shot by the time he fought Wlad. Mercer had only fought 7 times in 6 years between fights with Lewis and Wlad because he had suffered from health problems.

He had a serious neck injury which saw him pull out of a fight with Golota. Doctors advised him he could die from the next punch, so he had risky surgery to fix the injury and returned after 14 months. He then contracted Hepatitis B and was out for 20 months. Mercer hadn't fought a recognisable named boxer in 5.5 years when he faced Wlad.

By the time Mercer fought Briggs he was beyond shot. He was so irrelevant in terms of boxing he had been forced to take part in MMA fights to make money.

    exactly, he was iron chinned.

But they dont mention Mccall, tua, V.klitchko. Never stopped, and only tua was dropped from my knowledge when he was 38. In the professional rankings these men all possess great chins in the history of heavyweight boxing.

The post above this one where you show your idiocy by spouting off about Mercer getting stopped at the ages of 41 and 44 respectively, never mind you originally calling him Ray Austin, is proof that you are better suited following a sport you have some idea about.

You do know that Lewis smashed the fvcking useless Briggs 7 years before the wa*k stain managed to stop a 44 year old Mercer?

As for Mavrovic, you could be right. He tried the so called right way, went to Murica in his 4th, 8th, 12th, and 19th fights beat 4 Yanks, knocking 3 of them the fvck out, but none of the next level had the guts to fight him so he just kept defending his Euro title until he got his shot at Lewis' WBC world title.

So yeah you are probably correct all he fought before Lewis was cab drivers, and sh*t kicking farmers if his sojourns to Murica are anything to go by.
