Punch resistance, mobility, losing focus and being mostly right hand dominant. I don't think he had many technical flaws, if at all.
Motivation and commitment at times and an arrogance that he could beat any HW at half ****. Technically he was pretty much flawless when at his best and to say his chin was a problem is a joke when he's taking flush shots off the likes of Mercer, Briggs, Bruno and Vlitali Klitschko.
Lewis was mega. He was very multi faceted and quite clearly one of the most talented heavyweights that's ever lived. His only weakness when he was with Steward was complacency.
I’d say his composure when starting to get lit up. The way he did that stupid smile and drop his hands thing like in Rahman 1 and in the Vitali fight early on. That and his chin wasn’t what you’d call great.
It wasnt bad for sure, but in the heavyweight division if you can be 1 shot KOd at all, let alone twice, and especially by guys that aren't in the top echelon of punchers then it could easily materialize as an issue just due to the dynamics of the weight. I say this as a big Lennox fan that thinks the losses get over blown
That's true, it's maybe not a flaw. But he isn't Usyk or Tyson in the speed department. It could have been a hinderance if he had to fight that type of fighter (obviously Tyson was no longer Tyson when they fought in 2002/3).
The chin thing with Lennox was always a question for me because the two losses by ko are against guys he really didn’t seem that up for, and I’ve seen him take some good shots from good punchers and brush them off. Which leads me to his main flaw imo which was his focus and motivation at times against what he deemed inferior or weak opposition. When he was motivated and fully focused he could be a devastating offensive fighter.
This kind of sums up my thoughts. He seemed to be complacent when he considered a fighter to be beneath him, and twice paid the price. Always being motivated - mentally and physically - for a fight is a skill in itself and that was an area of weakness for Lewis. He was easily capable of retiring undefeated. He was a terrific fighter though. Every boxer has flaws. I was a big fan of his in the 90s and early 2000s. I'm glad he gets his due today
