I never said Morrison fought Moorer. And same goes for Lewis as he wasn't anywhere near his prime against Tucker. Tucker wasn't shot, he won all his bouts in the run up to the Lewis fight. Nobodys arguing that "Tyson fought nobody" he has an atg resume.
Lewis physically was definitely in his prime wether he was skill wise is debatable i personally think he’s overrated h2h. he’s too stationary and someone like foreman is all wrong for him
He was kind-of a "boring" fighter In his day he was seen a bit like Wlad K. A bit of a hugger and a bit on the boring side.
His chin wasn't great as well as his stamina. He didn't carry his power late, never stopped anybody after round 8. From the technical standpoint his left hook was far from great, millions times less dangerous weapon than his right hand. He also wasn't a good body puncher at all. So, no, he wasn't perfect by any means. But the combination of size, skills and power made him great fighter. I have him among 5 best HWs of all time H2H
It's noticeable that ten years ago he was very under-rated on here whereas if anything now it's gone the other way. His biggest flaw was motivation but I give him credit for improving to go from a good world heavyweight champion to being perhaps one of the top half-dozen of all time.
I seem to recall he didn't have superior hand speed. Certainly he had a decent chin; at HW anyone can get KO'd.
His 1-2 became very quick when Steward started training him, his jab was pretty fast, it didn`t travel far as his lead hand was always extended.
That shaky chin, of course. Lewis is the only top level HW to get starched in the early rounds by mediocre contenders like McCall and Rahman. It should be uncontested how fragile his mandible was.
