In retrospect I think he made the right call. He has his health and his wealth. However he did open his mouth and say he would give Vitali a rematch in a fight that was exciting and he was trailing on all cards. To say that and then not do it looks a little bad. But then if he did rematch and got starched people would say he should of left after the first fight.

Lennox could've retired even a bit earlier; he had done enough. Although, seeing him get in good shape and beating VK up would've been awesome, just to shut up the Lewis haters lol. I agree with the earlier poster, LL looked about 80% of himself that night.

Lewis UD if they had fought again.

Ross Purity Was boxing Vitali's ears off till he got badly cut & the fight was stopped. You don't recognize a stoppage due to cuts do you as per your Lennox -Vitali result when Vitali was ahead. So Ross Purity was ahead in that fight till he got cut he must have won. Ross was a damn good fighter He could have been special but never took himself seriously He was only in it for the $$$$$

Why ??? He beat him fair & square when only part fit himself. Wlad went AWOL he didn't want Lennox , Ike was incarcerated There was no one worth the effort. He retired & STAYED retired despite multi mil $$$$ offers to return. He did the right thing

You know what s really weird is that podcast with that guy who used to call fights with Joe Rogan, I can't remember his name, Mike Goldblum maybe? Anyhow he has Paul Malignaggi, Antonio Tarver and Roy Jones Jr as his counterparts. Dissecting the ggg- Canelo fight 3 and the Marquez Pacquiao 4 is brutal to watch. I SWEAR in all competiveness, Roy was owned by Tarver at the end of his career so why would they have them in the same podcast? Surely Jones can't assert himself strongly with Antonio beside him, and nothing could wipe the smirk off if what Tarver has on his face for Roy, but that is all under the bridge. It's the stuff they talk about: Marquez Pacquiao: "it's like the first three fights Marquez lost were forgotten about when he iced Manny." Then the ggg- Canelo fight 3: ''oh GGG has to live with the torment of not being in his prime when the third fight comes around, he can't let the sour taste of the first fights out his mouth." They could all agree on this, but wasn't there a point where rjj beat Tarver, THEN dropped 2 to him? My goodness, it's kinda awkward to watch. Speaking of Lewis's retirement, it came at a good time. The Klitschko s were the young bucks coming up, Lewis was already getting tired of putting himself through camp. He would've eventually been conquered. Plus look at his resume: beat Tyson, Holyfield, Rahman avenged all of his losses, beat everyone he ever went into the ring with, and retired being a h2h monster!

Is this a pre curser or omen to the up and coming GGG?

Maybe the daftest **** I've ever read on here, not counting shadow111's amusing posts.

Klitschko won ever minute of every round of that fight up till the stoppage.

Purity was little more than a punching bag for the entire fight.

Oh he definitely did! Considering the fact that he promised Vitali a rematch. Even Manny Steward thought he should rematch Vitali as that was unfinished business.

Bottom line, he felt how strong and skilled Vitali was and didn’t want to take that chance. Cashed out at 38. Lame!
