In the future do you think future historians will consider the Mayweather/Ortiz fight as a resume enhancer?

In the long run I don't think it will hurt Money, but because of the way he won it certainly help his case as being considered an ATG.

I said for two months up to the fight that I didn't think he had the MENTAL TOUGHNESS to fight Mayweather at this stage of his career. "True Mayweather Fans" and some other people thought that this was a legit fight as if Ortiz belonged in the ring with Lil Floyd. Well, the proof was in the pudding, the Pretty One knew who he was fighting and why. The head butt just confirmed my suspicions. Ortiz dropping his hands proved HOW MENTALLY unprepared he was. :-(

Mayweather bitches and moans about getting no respect, no credibility. Well, in this particular case, he was his own worst ENEMY. And he ain't gonna get what I know deep down inside what he wants, it's why he overcompensates about how much money he got to burn, any credit for this fight.

    Of course it did.

Floyd was spanking victor ass in there, victor had to launch a flying headbutt at him, and floyd knocked him out cold for that.

Ortiz was a young hungry lion, who stepped on a tail of a dragon and got burnt in the process.

He will be a champion again, i'm sure of it.

Well, I won't watch him and his performance ain't gonna increase his fan base, what little there was.

If that's the case if it isn't even nominated for Knock Out of the Year will that be a travesty??? :think

Travesty? Knock out of the year is an opinion, if the opinion is it was not knock out of the year then so be it.

Floyd ain't losing no sleep over that.

Let be honest right now, the only reason why people are pissed is because glass jaw ortiz didn't make the ten count.

If he would have made the ten count went back to his corner, everyone would be saying we even.

He won't, right... :yep If it's not considered KOTY then there must be something illegitimate about then. I mean all those people can't be Floyd haters. I wonder why it wouldn't be legitimate??? hmmmm:think

What happened in Ortiz/Floyd will be talked about and entertaining 30 years from now.

Its a win people will argue about.

Did it enhance his legacy? Of course. No one will rank him over Ray Robinson for beating Ortiz of course, but Floyd was schooling a bigger, hard hitting fighter in an aggressive style.

Once Pacmania dies down, people will be looking at what Floyd actually did in the ring, not what he said in an internet website interview.

I can't imagine calling it KO of the year just because it was pretty one sided and it was a case of a fighter catching another one being stupid.

It will be Rings Event of the Year, no doubt.

Even though the tree was an overhyped green bum who got beat by maidana and peterson, Floyds win over him is still great because of the fact he is a strong hungry lion and who just beat an undefeated champion in bertoe. Ortiz wasn't coming from a loss or drained or broken goods. He was strong and hungry and a southpaw.

I would agree with that if he won it in the fashion he's been winning fights. I just don't see how a future historian who knows boxing and how the fight was won can in good conscience use this as a way of enhancing Floyd's legacy. The ending was certainly unexpected... The win was not... :smoke
