Did Maidana seem mentally ready to go last night?

I watched the fight, and honestly, in the second half, he just seemed like he mentally wasn't there, and could have called it quits at any time. I think the guy is going through some serious issues with his management and/or his life outside the ring.

Corley gave him more problems than anticipated and hit him with awkward unseen shots in addition to making him miss.

His serious issues were in the ring with him.

Credit to him for slugging to the body through the fatigue all the way.

Maybe it was fatigue only, but I noticed he seemed to turn his back on Corley a lot and generally just showed signs of strange behavior in there.

Makes you wonder what's happening behind closed doors, there's something definitely not right around Maidana these days. Hopefully he can sort things out, he's just one damn exciting warrior who could give us some really good fights. I haven't seen the Corley fight, but reports aren't too positive. Oh well, we'll see his mindset in December.

He had issues with the fact that Corley wouldn't go belly up and instead gave him a real battle he wasn't prepared for.
If Corley had been taken out early, there would be no excuses about his management.

    Maidana isnt a great boxer

he is a good pressure fighter brawler

Ortiz almost KO'd him early by boxing but was drawn in to a brawl

Maidana has wide shots and is so open and easy to predict

Corley was just quick and could anticipate everything coming

    Im not surprised

No, he just isn't, and never was that great. He got all this hype for beating another hype in Ortiz. Boxing fans are ridiculous sometimes.

Maidana is currently residing in the 'way overrated on ESB' category. He's an average fighter with some power.

He looked like crap to me. Im sure Khan is more confident now of getting a shutout UD, fact im sure even ortiz is too

But what justifies Khans ridiculous hype? People forget he was KO'd in 50 seconds by a journeyman once

The entire 140 lb division is over-hyped: Alexander, bradley, khan, maidana, ortiz...

If Corley can give Mayweather, Cotto, etc tough fights wtf were people expecting from Maidana who is not close to the level of either of these men?
