The reason why Wilder abandoned the first round game plan was because of his muscular Physique and carrying an extra 20-25 pounds then he is used too. He got fatigued

    Did he add value?

Not really, he was hired to ensure Wilder won

I think he made the best out of a bad situation.

You're right he can't fight off the back foot and that's why he abandoned the body work. Even when working the body with jabs and right hands, when he throws them he steps forward, he needs the space to step in to work the body. But Fury from rd 3 on wards was really pressing forward and not giving the space Wilder needed to throw to the body, so once he's backing up again Wilder is ineffective.

Wilder basically abandoned the body work in rd 4, which is the rd he ironically did the best, he head hunted in rd 5 probably because he was trying to finish Fury and then in rd 6 Fury just didn't give him the space to throw much to the body, he tried but he was just backing up too much. Fury also started tying Wilder up when he did go to the body, putting Wilder in head locks when he'd duck down to throw to the body.

It was never a good enough game plan as it never addressed the issue of what Wilder does if backed up, it still relied on Wilder moving forward. So it was a combination of a poor game plan and Fury taking away his game plan.

Clearly. Wilder was better in this fight. Still not great, but he actually won a round with boxing against Fury. That's an accomplishment..

I thought malik done pretty well with wilder. A lot better than i anticipated after watching the training videos etc. The extra weight/muscle was a great move...wilder would have been done early if he was 212 lbs last night. Furys style is too energy sapping giving away 60 lbs or that. Wilder was a lot stronger in the clinch and it helped tire fury a lot more than in the 2nd fight. The big mistake was how active wilder was in them first 2 rounds. Was like the energy bunny in the 1st...i reckon fury just sat back and let him work knowing he,ll tire quicker before getting started after wilder was already starting to tire.

I think thats on wilder tho...he cant pace himself. Cant really blame malik for that.

well they knew what to do, I don't think what Malik did was anything spectacular. Gain a little weight and try to fight back more and survive and try for the haymaker. Wilder took too many punches, but in reality it was the same result as last time but he took more punishment. I think Breland if anything made the 3rd fight possible by stopping the 2nd fight so there would be a 3rd. Instead, Wilder would have been stopped in the 2nd fight more convincinly and no one would have wanted a 3rd fight regardless of contract.

How would the fight have gone if Sugar Hill trained Wilder and Malik Scott trained Fury?
