    Absolutely.

    He got some glory past forty by taking Thurman's undefeated record, tried for more with Spence, came up short in a respectable showing against Spence's worthy enough stand-in.

    Fine time to call it a day.

    I thought he looked pretty decent vs Ugas. The handspeed was still world class but his legs were betraying him. He probably could’ve continued with success against a lower level of opposition but what’s the point in that?

    Think he should’ve retired after Thurman. He got really lucky Spence pulled out.

    Not a bad way to go out all things considered.

    If he went on to long he might have ended up getting Sandor Martin'ed.

    I think for anyone else it was one fight too many, but for Pac it was fitting how he went out.

    Spence would have beaten him down terribly.
    Atleast against Ugas he lost a fight where hos age showed but he wasnt huniliated like Hopkins for example

    Pacquiao would have beaten Spence. He had to tack on extra running and extra sparring when the opponent changed on 11 days notice. He looked amazing in camp, but was seriously over trained.

    While it may be a fairy tale ending to finish with a win I begrudge no fighter who is still near the top a loss to end their career. Even two is acceptable if the first lost was truly competitive. Anything more than that (Roy Jones) is unfortunate. Pacman retired at the perfect time.

    Sometimes boxers look good in training but then on fight night their legs are gone

    Pac overtrained.

    I believe that Pac was going to give the performance of his life against Spence. And I truly believe he would have gone to war and beaten Spence.

    I dont know, feels like sonce Spence is better than Ugas it would have been likely Pac still wouldnt have legs like he used to and been overwhelmed by Spence.

    Problem with boxers in general thiugh is that, even if you are right he would have continued till he got badly beaten like Oscar vs him.
    In a way it was better for him this way.

    Nobody will really remember that fight vs Ugas and Thurman was his last great performance.

    It was certainly something that bothered me at the time.

    April 8, 2020;
    April 23, 2020;

    With that said, Manny still made the right decision to go for the glory against Spence in 2021. Even if it had ended with him being beat down and stopped, so what? At age forty-two he aimed for the division's top dog, a bigger guy in his prime, with an eye on adding one more precious stone to an already jewel-encrusted legacy. That alone is to his great credit.
