Did Manny Steward ever pull a fighter out of throw in the towel?

    Could be wrong but did he not wave the towel for Andy Lee when faced Chavez Jr.

    No it was a referee stoppage.

    People say that having Manny in McClellans corner would have changed things about the Benn fight but if he wasn't going to pull McClellan out then it would have made no difference. That Lee Chavez fight was a fight where an argument can be made that he probably could have pulled Lee out.

    Any examples? I can't really remember him allowing guys to take too much punishment either so maybe he just wasn't in the situation where he should have thrown the towel. Lee vs Chavez Jr. maybe.

    Back in the 80,s i think....can,t prove it right now because most of those fights weren,t shown on tv.
