It wasn't just his brother, it was everyone who knew him, including guys like Lou Duva. I am sorry but you are a bit of a dim bulb to think that everyone was lying about his dedication to training.
And you are a deluded fan boy to think that reporters writing at the time, not reminiscing years later, did. No one in their right mind would say that the latter is as reliable as the former. You wouldn't either if it wasn't about preserving the Marciano myth.
No, it is kind of stupid to think that reporters would go out of their way to write about Marciano's training in any kind of extensive fashion. It is stupid on its face.
But.... they did write about it. There are actual articles. As you can see if you actually read them. Reporters just doing their job. This is a new level of delusion. Jesus Christ what a waste of time you are, you weirdo. Bye.
Are they with him every day of his camp like the members of his camp and family? It is not a reporter's job to detail a fighter's day-to-day training. And how the hell do you think he developed his unreal stamina anyway? This is stupid. POST SCRIPT: You do understand that Rocky retired because after the Walcott fight, training started to become a problem for him, don't you, because of his injuries and declining motivation. So which fights are you even talking about, specifically?
You do understand that Rocky retired because his manager was cheating him and that he had a recurring back problem and that this was several fights after the Walcott two? Marciano, in several of his major fights ,was facing men significantly older, some on the cusp of retiring another had nearly a 100 fights on his clock and was fighting a division above his best weight.Wouldn't you expect Rocky to have more stamina than them?
Yes. Its's pointless to argue with Catchweight et al. No amount of evidence will sway them. I mean, this whole thread, now nearing 15 pages, is about that Rocky dropped a very typical amount of weight in camp. Might just start a thread about 22-year old Ali being 232 lbs between the Liston fights, which means he would be 250 lbs in the ring today.
If he could have been he would have been.a hundred and eighty five /a hundred and eighty eight was his optimum weight.
Nope, he could be 200 lb but he wanted less weighr and more stamina, he would go 200lb if he faced someone bigger like Ali and Liston and he would still be fit.
Yeah ,Yeah, Yeah, and with modern training he would be 6 ft 3and have 6 inches more reach. Put 15 extra pounds on Marciano and all you would do would be to slow up an already not fast man, ever further. I've been hearing all this kind of crap for 20 plus years.
If what you say is true. Why didn't he come in at 200lbs to fight. Rocky's weight Shkor 220lbs 190lbs Jackson 254lbs 183lbs Louis 214lbs 184lbs Eatman 207lbs 189lbs Hardeman 206lbs 182lbs Wilson 229lbs 190lbs
He didn't need that with opponents that were not very good but he would do that against guys like Liston or Ali.
Funny, you claimed Leotis Martin who was MW in amateurs and started as 175 pounder was fit at 200lbs but Rocky, who's bigger man could not be fit at 200 lbs? Funny how you could find excuses for Liston opponents but somehow bigger man could not be heavier and fit.
