Everything is possible that Orlin Norris had access to. That guy was shorter than Marciano. Same reach. He was as heavy as Tua when he wanted to be a HW (he beat Snipes, Page and Tucker) and whenever he fought at cruiser he weighed as low as Marciano.

Young Tyson trained pretty much like Marciano did, so that wouldn't make any difference.

If he trained like Holy and took the same stuff, though...

Yes. So naturally 185 in the ring.

I still don't understand the premise of the thread. "Breaking news: Just like every fighter Rocky put on weight when not in camp."

    Despite the Rockista's desperately attempting to prove that Marciano was naturally 220lbs before training and deliberately re-directling Melankomas thread into a Marciano hypejob,what we are left with is the following;
Every fighter trains to reach what he and his trainer consider his optimum fighting weight, generally speaking his means they lose some surplus, though there have been instances of the reverse being true.
Having said and accepted this, and I don't know anyone who didnt!
What we are left with is a huge load of nothing ,about nothing. proving nothing ,from which nothing can be concluded.
So lets move along because there is nothing here to see!

And yet we are almost on page 10. A classic Marciano thread. :)

Exactly. Mike was in the 230s before camp and would get down to his peak fight weight of 216-218.

This will be the last I add here, but there are numerous photos of Marciano. For anyone to look at him and think he had the same body composition of a Mike Tyson or a David Tua is looking at things through whatever kind of Marciano tinted glasses.

It doesn't matter the workouts or even PEDs, they don't change your innate muscular or skeletal build. Regardless of similar heights, that aspect really determines the type of frame you can build.

Tyson trained more about power than stamina just compare their workouts, Marciano focused on cardio while Tyson on calisthenics.

Well ,as we know Tyson didn't often have to worry too much about stamina.

Against some guys scared to death with no chin yeah, but with guys like Holyfield or Lewis he needed stamina very much.

Yes but you are talking about Mike Tyson the modern finished product. You are talking about David Tua the modern finished product. And comparing them to a 1950s finished product.

One look at Tyson and Tua clearly shows over developed physiques.

The over developed physique was more effective in boxing after the 1960s.

Pre 1960s, over developed physiques were not as effective as they later became. And we know why that was.

Each fighter ate and trained by the methods of their own time zone.

It’s hard having discussions with people who ate a lot of paint chips as kids. In the same breath Tyson trained down from 230 to 215 but Marciano didn’t train down from 200 plus to 185. U can’t have conversations w these people.

I asked you if Marciano took off 30lbs to fight Vingo? Im now asking for the third time.
No, you certainly can't have conversations with people if you consistently refuse to answer their questions!
