I think he edged it 7-5. You could argue 8-4, at best 6-6 but Maidana didnt win the fight imo.

Why did Maidana give Floyd problems?

No, Floyd just nicked it by changing up his tactics mid-fight and figuring out Maidana down the stretch. Was a very good performance from both men, Maidana for fighting out of his skin and really taking it to Floyd, Floyd for weathering the storm and being savvy enough to make the correct adjustments to win.

Maidana became a better version of himself under Garcia. Maidana was still awkward but he became better defensively and he became very good at setting up his attack with feints and level changes.

No but the closest perhaps of Mayweather's pro career, with a nod to JLC I.

Could argue the most he was physically roughed up in the pros / since Lorenzo Aragón.

You can argue for the draw in the first fight, nothing more. I had it 7-5 Floyd.

    Also razor-thin, but a win.

MRM and JLC got equally close in terms of rounds, 7-5, and both did well to make Floyd uncomfortable in even the rounds they lost.

I think he may have buzzed Floyd in round 1 during that exchange that started the momentum. I think the cut also bothered him early. As his legs got back and the cut got better he started timing the awkward maidana

People who dislike Floyd like to believe this is the same Maidana that lost to Khan. To me at least it seems like he improved a lot under Garcia.

Yes 100% Marcos Maidana beat Floyd because he made Floyd try to fight & not run. Floyd could NOT FIGHT!! Maidana beat him easily, he beat him up. In the rematch Maidana wasn't given the chance to fight Floyd's body guard/ref made sure Maidana couldn't attack . I wish I had as many $100 bills as ref called STOP!!!!!!!!!!!! every time Maidana moved aggressively . The ref won the rematch NOT Floyd
