Probably considering he most likely re-hydrated to 145lbs anyways. Cotto would have been beaten by even more speed with the younger Pacman.

Probably would have done to be fair. For those 8 years he was mega.

It's a such a shame we never saw that ferocious offensive machine face off with the defensive brilliance of Floyd.

Well the fighters in a higher weight class absorb punches better. Would the Pacquiao who beat MAB have beaten Cotto? Probably not, Pac only came in at 136 fight night for that fight.

Even giving away 9 pounds he probably beats Cotto TBF.

The point I'm making is, Pacquiao never declined during these 8 years, he only improved as a fighter in terms of speed, accuracy, stamina and power. It's just his opponents got bigger.

Could see that being true. As the opponents got better his effectiveness against the opposition decreased. Which is why lower weight Pac is the better fighter H2H.

You're mistaken. He always re-hydrated to mid 140lbs. Look up the tale of the tape images. There's an pic of the fight vs Morales, re-hydrated to 144lbs.

You can watch his fights on youtube. He rehydrated to 136 against Barrera first time. Rehydrated to 139 against Morales first time. Rehydrated to 129 against Julio.

I feel like werew arguing semantics.

Is Pacquiao more effective against a field of FW opposition as opposed to WW opposition, absolutey.

As a fighting machine was Pacquaio any worse in 2010 than he was in 2004, absolutely not.

Alright that clarifies things. I believe the start of his prime was the Lucero fight in 2003 his last fight at 122.

His punches obviously had far more impact and explosiveness against the actual opposition. Which I suppose is rather obvious.

Go to 5:30 in that video. His power obviously was far more lethal against the smaller men. Which I know is a bit of a no brainer. But there are actually quite a few people who believe Pac was more effective against a field of WW opposition.
